Los Alamos is unique among the many smaller towns of the Southwest, in having a public transportation system. Called "Atomic City Transit", the buses are making scheduled rounds on local streets and are currently free!.
In addition to regular service, you can "Dial a Ride", which will provide curb-to-curb service within the county during normal operating hours. Seniors (over 60) or individuals with disabilities have priority in making reservations for the Dial-a-Ride service, and need to make reservations one to
three days in advance.
